One last walk through the elementary halls... 🎓️
For younger students, 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐝 𝐖𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐬 offer a look at where they’re headed. For seniors, they're a look at how far they’ve come.
Sometimes, one last chance to play parachute in the gym is too good to pass up.

Rollingwood Elementary’s 2nd graders are the 𝙏𝙝𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧 𝙍𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙚 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙢𝙥𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨! ⚡️📚️ With literacy intentionally built into their STEM curriculum, students collectively read the most minutes and placed 1st out of 𝟯𝟬𝟲 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺𝘀 across Oklahoma.

𝙁𝙧𝙤𝙯𝙚𝙣: 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝘽𝙧𝙤𝙖𝙙𝙬𝙖𝙮 𝙈𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 at Putnam City North was a masterclass in high school music theatre, bringing the production to life with extravagant sets, costumes, and talent that would feel right at home on a professional stage.

Miriah Holcomb from Putnam City High School has been named a finalist for the 𝙆𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙞 𝙊’𝙃𝙖𝙧𝙖 𝘼𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙙 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝘽𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝘼𝙘𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨, one of Oklahoma’s top honors for high school musical theatre performers. 𝗣𝘂𝘁𝗻𝗮𝗺 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆’𝘀 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 featured three days of relays, sprints, long jump, tug of war, and enough cheering to leave everyone’s ears ringing. We saw big wins, close finishes, and a few competitive tears, but the best part was seeing our kids realize what they're capable of.

Putnam City celebrates our 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐧𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐬! 💐
They provide care, support families, connect students to resources, and help remove barriers to learning. Nurses, you truly are caregivers, advocates, and Torchbearers.

Summer reading starts with finding a book students actually want to open. 📖
Overholser Elementary wanted 𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝 𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙖𝙩 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙗𝙤𝙤𝙠 to read at home over the summer, and this year’s Free Book Fair made it happen. Students picked stories that matched their interests and reading levels, took them home to keep, and got a reminder about how to use public libraries when it's time for a new book.

We've been writing our story all year - now it's illustrated and brought to life! 🎨
The Putnam City Arts Festival welcomed families from across the District to the Centennial Center for a full day of hands-on art and music, live performances, and gallery displays. Each school was represented at the first large District-wide event in the new space, and we're grateful to everyone who could join the celebration.

Putnam City’s annual 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐰𝐨𝐰 saw students, families, and community members gather for an evening of tradition, recognition, and connection. Hosted by PC Native American Student Services, the event featured traditional gourd dancing, a parade of regalia, and a social dance where everyone was invited to take part.

What does it look like to follow the evidence wherever it leads?
Inside Mr. Stark's biotechnology class at PC High, students investigate a mock crime scene, working through fingerprint analysis, DNA testing, and detailed evidence logs. Teachers are cast as witnesses, with students conducting interviews as they work to solve the case.

Putnam City West students didn’t let a nontraditional week slow them down. During this year’s Cancer Fund Drive (CFD Week), they raised a school record-breaking $𝟑𝟏,𝟓𝟒𝟎 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡, even with a shift to virtual learning along the way. Students and staff rallied around Ms. Hines, a faculty member on her own cancer journey, reminding her that no Torchbearer walks alone.

Our Putnam City community showed up strong at the 𝙊𝙠𝙡𝙖𝙝𝙤𝙢𝙖 𝘾𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙈𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙣, running to remember the 168 lives lost in the Oklahoma City bombing. Students, staff, and families were out on the race course all weekend, competing in a race reflecting the Oklahoma Standard and care for our neighbors. Check out Central Elementary Run Club's sea of blue shirts!

Engineers, or elementary students? 🤖
The 3rd Annual 𝗣𝗘𝗔𝗞 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲 gave families a front-row seat to see what our students have been working on all year. From coding routes to testing runs, teams were proud to demonstrate the engineering process from start to finish.

Future Putnam City students are already getting their first taste of learning here 🌺
Children from PC Smart Start Daycare took a trip over to the Centennial Center gardens to release the butterflies they’ve been raising! It was just a short walk next door, but their excited faces prove that this is a memory that will stick.

He’s the first hello and the last goodbye for many District students 💙
